It is mid-January in Hokkaido, and the outside temperature is below freezing at all times. With the various winter festivals coming in the beginning of February, many people make ice candles at home and display them in front of their houses and in other public places. The soft glow of the candle light through the ice, creates a warm relaxing mood.
